Hyundai Makes Safety A Priority in 2012

This year, six Hyundai models were designated at being a "Top Safety Pick" by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). This represents a large portion of the new Hyundai lineup, and it's something that Gurley Leep Hyundai is quite proud of. Of course, it also goes without saying that this is something that the South Korean automaker is quite proud of too. After all the company's surge to prominance in the United States has been fueled by design and dependability, and now it's being driven by safety as well.

"Safety has always been a top priority at Hyundai, so we are thrilled to see six of our models on this important and prestigious list," explains Mike O'Brien, vice president, Product and Corporate Planning, Hyundai Motor America. "Having led the industry in standardizing Electronic Stability Control for the midsize sedan segment back in 2005, Hyundai is committed to developing and providing the best in both passive and active safety technologies."1

It's worth noting that for any vehicle to be named a "Top Safety Pick" by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, it must feature Electronic Stability Control as a standard feature. So not only has Hyundai led the industry by standardizing this feature's use, but they continue to do so today in these and other models.

Of course, we know that the one burning question in your mind is still, what 2012 Hyundai models were named as "Top Safety Picks?"
